I love this fashion editorial for US Vogue's 2003 Decemeber issue. This is one if my all time favourite editorials photographed by the fantastic Annie Leibovitz.
Lewis Carol's Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourite fantasy storys as I often used to watch the Disney classic as a child. It is the ultimate fantasy adventure story, full of twist and turns which really captures your imagination and leads you to expect the unexpected. The designers featured in this editorial have really captured the essence of Alice as an angelic but curious girl with their creative take on how they percieve Alice.
Annie Leibovitz's style of photography always creates such a magical and other-worldly feel, transporting the viewer through another dimension into the world of Alice and Wonderland.
As with all the best fantasy childrens stories, the story of Alice and Wonderland has such a sense of escapism, which allows you to float off into your own dreamworld. Fashion can often have the same kind of effect, as designers often create collections which have the power to transport you into a different country or time just throught the styles they choose to portray.
